There's a ton of resources for people who want to have orders fulfilled by a dropshipper. But where are the resources for those of us who want to dropship our products?

Before I read this guide, I had a very limited understanding of drop shipping and how it all works. I found the guide to be very informative, and it made the whole process of drop shipping less intimidating. I plan on reading it once or twice more to make sure that I've learned as much as I can, and I am seriously considering starting my own company that uses drop shipping.

Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. As in retail businesses, the majority of retailers make their profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail price but some retailers earn an agreed percentage of the sales in commission, paid by the wholesaler to the retailer.

1-FaYa8 allows dropship orders for all registered customers. There are no additional charges.
Just order online in the same way as usual, but add a new shipping address during the checkout process.
You can have as many shipping addresses as you like listed on your FaYa8 account.

2- Won't my customers just go direct to FaYa8?! Fear not! The products will be sent "blind". That means FaYa8's name, address and contact details are not visible to your customer. Your customers cannot find out your wholesale dropship source.
In the FaYa8 warehouse, we have specialized procedures to ensure no mention of FaYa8 is made on the packaging or invoice. In addition, we will not include any FaYa8 promotional materials on or in the packages and none of the products contain the FaYa8 logo or brandname on the product, packaging or accessories.
Your repeat customers will remain loyal to you - they don't need to know that FaYa8 is your secret wholesale dropship supplier.

People make money from it, yes.

If you have a supplier you know and trust it's great.

If, like most people, you get involved in the wrong manner you'll be flying blind.

Avoid any website that offers drop-shipping to the public. You'll find their products on Ebay for less then they charge their "drop-shippers."

I read the guide and I really thought it was helpful. However, I did have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer. When creating the website for the dropshipping business, I'm assuming you get the product images from the wholesalers/suppliers, right? If so, how does that work?

I am admittedly a newbie and signed up for Doba's free trial. I'm probably not a good example, but they had very few options for sunglasses. Other items of interest were cheaper on Amazon, so I cancelled.

Not to say you can't find stuff there, but if you sign up make sure to look around before your trial period is over.

The drop ship vendor will provide the images. Sometimes you can just copy images directly from their website. A couple of my drop shippers will send images in a folder to dropbox.com and I transfer the folder to my own dropbox account. Some drop shippers have a resource section on their wholesale website for accessing images. It really depends on the drop shipper. You'll need to ask.

As a wholesaler /manufacturer I'd like to see a common platform used by reatailers looking to use the dropship model. Currently we are frequently courted by new companies looking to minimize their risk with dropship commisions but every company has different shipping policies and set up requirements so in most situations it just puts the burden on the vendor and is simply not worth the effort compared to a straight foward wholesale purchase. If shopify /ordercup or even square had way too manage dropship accts it could be far more appealing to manufacturers. Any plans? Unfortunately dropship is going to stay a dirty word till there can be some streamlining.

the problem i have with dopshipping on shopify is i have yet to find an app that calculates shipping charges from different vendors.we list over 6,000 items and most come from our central warehouse but we also use a manufacture as a dropshipper on the other side of the country. i have not been able to find something that calculates shipping charges from 2 different places. it will only calculate shipping based on one location. shipping in canada can vary quite a bit depending on where the product starts......any help or suggestions would be great.

I use WorldWide Brands to find my suppliers. They are broken down by dropshippers, light bulk dealers, liquidators and the combo drop shipper/ light bulk dealer. If I remember coirrectly, it cost me $299 to set up an account to search for suppliers, so I assume they have a similar service for those wishing to provide dropshipping as well.

I find when you drop ship from multiple drop shippers that you ran into the shipping cost problem, example:

Consumer adds to cart product A shipped from province Ontario the adds product B to cart where it is a different drop shipper shipping from QC. The store owner needs to have shipping calculated based on two origin address going to one destination, in addition to running with the taxation issues...

Anyone with opinions around such issue?

Hello there.

We have a store that we will pause/ change category and have products that use space on our warehouse and we dont need longer.

So we will giveaway our products to someone which is interest in or fits to.

Firstly, we will giveaway 2 bracelets that you can sell or gift to your customers on your physical or online store. (All products on our store is also for giveaway/ free)

It is free and it is online shipping you need to pay for.

(the giveaway fits best for US sellers because of expensive shipping outside of USA)

If you are interested, gladly send a message. !!

There is so much information in this blog and even a greater wealth of knowledge from the first-hand experances mentioned in this forum. I honestly was getting fustrated that my shop was doing so poorly then I read some of the points addressed here and there it was, so clear.  Things I had overlooked.  Guess it is time for me to dive back in and make some adjustments.

Hello guys,

I see the DropShipping is getting popular day by day and we would love to support DropShipper communities with free Shopify themes available at SellerSmith.com. These themes are section based and follow the latest Shopify coding standard with Liquid HTML. Feel free to take a look and download them.

In the case if you need to build the landing page to convert better the traffic there is PageFly advanced page builder (approved on Shopify app store). We've found out that to sell well you have to showcase the products benefits and it's definitely need to have the product landing page.

In addition, it has native Facebook integration. It means that you can connect Facebook events with Facebook Ads manager. You can clearly understand the customers behavior on your landing page and whether people click on "add to cart" button and proceed further to the checkout page.

I asked a topic about must-have Marketing Apps right here on Shopify Forum. There are a lot of ideas that you can consider, for both Shopify stores in general and Drop Shipping stores.

Hey,

Again, great content. Thank you!

We’re also looking for more suppliers for our website, mobileiGo.com.

We’re looking at trying Worldwide Brands. They claim to offer 10 million items and 1000s of guaranteed "real" wholesale dropshippers. Has anyone tried them? Again, we’d really like to know as much info about these suppliers as possible before signing up.  Please let me know if you've had luck with these.  Good luck and thanks,

Ben

Hi,

Okay, I have another question for this thread since it's getting so many eyeballs and some great comments and responses.

We’re also looking for better automation for our website, mobileiGo.com. I I'd like to find something that automates everything AND offers more access to more suppliers and products.  I'm posting this question all over to see if anyone has experience here?

Has anyone tried SellerBot to see if they have a truly automated drop-ship system with good products?  They're supposed to 10,000+ producst from all kinds of supplier. We're thinking about giving them a try. They of course have lots of positive testimonials and reviews, but I want to hear from actual users and be thorough befor espending our hard earned money.

Please let me know if you've had luck or experience with this.  Good luck and thanks,

Ben

Thanks so much for the guide, very useful information!

I am seriously considering starting my second online business and I want to give dropshipping a try but the thought of having little to no control over the fulfillment process makes me nervous, I've been doing some research, but I am stuck trying to find a reliable US dropshipping company.
