Split payment online/physical POS for expensive products
Hi everyone, I have been working on my website for a while now but it's my first time posting here. I am looking for some opinions / technical feebacks.
On my website I sell day-long to week-long experiences/tours in Italy to tourists coming from abroad. Due to the nature of the product prices are high ranging from 300$ to as 3000$. This in my opinion can understandibly scare many customers away as they probably won't feel comfortable spending so much on a service bought online. This is especially true at the beginning when one hasn't built a strong sense of trust and social proof with limited reviews and content.
So here is what I would like to hear your opinions and feebacks on: What if customers were allowed to pay half of the cart total at the moment of purchase and the other half only upon starting the experience with us in Italy using the Shopify POS? This would not only create a more relaxed type of payment but also (and more importantly) give us more crediblity?
I am interested in both overal opinions as well as feebacks on the actual feasability of it on a techical level.
