Hi, there!

Lisa here from the Shopify Support team.

Congratulations on getting your first sales! I hope I understand your question here. Have you imported some products from a dropshipper, then got an order, however, the items have not been shipped or paid for?

If this is the case, it is likely the dropshipper you are using needs to have the items purchased manually from your suppliers first and payment made by another method, such as your credit card to cover the cost of the item and shipping from the supplier to your customer.

When a customer checks out through Shopify, if it is via Shopify Payments, we will never pay the supplier directly for that transaction. You will still need to set up alternative payment methods for your dropshipper to cover the cost of the item.

While some dropshippers you can set up auto fulfillment - meaning when you get an order from Shopify, it will automatically be paid and shipped within the third party dropshipping app, it still requires that you set up this automatic fulfillment and put in your own payment details. Once Shopify or your third-party gateway has processed the payment, the funds from the customer will be deposited into your account.

In order to start generating a smooth workflow for the fulfillment of your dropshipped items, you may want to ensure you have your own means to pay the suppliers for the customer's orders. This article here from Shopify's help guides walks you through exactly how dropshipping works, and how to fulfill orders!

I hope this helps 😊
