Landing page or directly to homepage?

Some shops have extra landing pages with one big message - I don't: https://mountainherbs.net/

what do you think? Landing page yes or no? Why? Doesn't it compete google wise with the homepage?

Examples of good landing pages that sell?

Forget about landing pages and focus on creating great product pages with a strong call to action.

Also, don't make the mistake of trying to do everything at the homepage.

Why don't you like landing pages? So far I thought that they are ballast but everyone else says they are great.

I dont "dislike" landing pages.

If you're driving paid traffic to a landing page where you want someone to perform a certain action, then its fine - so long as youre tracking conversions.

But if you're thinking organic search traffic, there's no need. Just create solid product pages, then create high quality content based around your products and promote.

One page less that suits me anyway! I don't have that many rainy days to work on the computer - we had lots of them!

Great discussion here.

With John's suggestion it's good to start with the product page. The important thing good to do is adding more content that could tell more about the product with HOW it can benefit to the buyer. If the product page just contain the few information about the product it's just doesn't work. You can take a look at 30+ Shopify product page collection article for getting more inspiration and see how other merchants are doing huge product customization.

As for the landing page, well it's the best as (again suggested above) you track the conversion. And it's much better to track it precisely via Google Analytics or Facebook pixel events. For example, with PageFly advanced page builder app you can assign Facebook or Google Analytics events to "buy now" button.

Here is how it looks in reaility inside the PageFly dashboard app:
