Shop4Nerds - Why aren't I converting? This post is outdated

Hello there!

I have a store which I think has great potential, but I'm really struggling to make conversions happen.

Admittedly, this is my first Shopify store. I drop-ship from Aliexpress so my margins are between 20-80%. But mostly the lower end of that.

I have tried a number of things including adding a daily deal, offering 10% off your first order for signing up to the newsletter (only had 3-4 in the past month), changing my layout to suit the site better, making information clearer. My analytics are showing that people are rarely even click on product pages.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi James! Maggie, a Shopify Partner here :)

Your shop looks better since the last feedback request - well done! Make sure to follow on the comments made last time, mentioning narrowing your niche and specializing in a certain field / target market. At the moment you are trying to cater to everybody [selling Pokemon gadgets and fashion dresses], which indicates to the potential buyers you don’t specialize in neither of these fields, so how can they trust you as a source of most relevant products – can you see the point? By narrowing your niche and specializing, you can understand your target customer better, know where to find them, how to reach them and also how to stay competitive in comparison with other stores. Hope it helps!

Hi James,

When your site pops up, I feel lost. As a "nerd" I think having the more "nerdy" items displayed first would help. Having the iphone charger cable as the first thing I see isn;t ideal enough, unless it was a nerdy themed one.

I also think having an IG account would work very well for your site. Are you currently building one?
