Hello,

I reviewed your store Kirara.store and I think you should make sure your site is the absolute top-notch before you start advertising. There are a lot of small imperfections which can discourage the visitors of your website from buying.

Regarding your homepage, the links to your shop (Collections and Shop ->) are very small. The customer should see them immediately after getting on the homepage. I'd recommend adding links to your category pages on the top of the page. Also, there's no logo. A logo is the crucial part of your store identity and it's really important to have one. Here you can find some tips on how to make a simple logo.

Your social media links lead to some hair extensions pages but you don't sell these products anymore. You should decide what products you're going to sell and stick to it. Inconsistency doesn't look trustworthy. There's some information about phone accessories and hair extensions also on your Shipping page.

Your Contact page only includes your email address. Add a phone number and your physical address if you want your customers to trust you. It's a proof that you're a real person and you can be easily reached.

I'd also recommend adding an About us page with information about who you are, where you are located and why you are selling dog accessories. It's always nice when there's a credible story behind a store.

It's nice that you ship worldwide but there's no pricing. The customer is not very likely to buy if they don't know how much the shipping fee is.

It looks like there's a lot of work to do now but it's just a beginning. After you're satisfied with your store appearance, you need to start advertising. Don't forget retargeting ads as they are one of the most effective ones. Setting it up is quite difficult so I'd recommend using an app ROI Hunter Easy, it's very simple and easy to use.

Good luck!

Katerina

Hi Katherina, I really like your detailed analysis on Kirara’s site. Could you do the same for mine too? Lavishleyco.com

Am getting a lot of traffic but less than 0.5% add to cart. Not quite sure what’s wrong! Thanks so so much!

Hi Pippi,

Your website is nice and your products seem to be selected carefully. I got just a few remarks:

  • There are no products in your Shoes and Beach Accessories sections, you can hide them until you have some.
  • Your About us page is great, I like the text but part of the text is just a picture and it looks a little unprofessional (check the screenshot attached). Could the slogan be a text too?
  •  Your customers definitely want to know who you are and where you are located. You can add it to your Contact page to build trust. Also, the phone number could be helpful to make your customers believe you're reliable.
  • Free delivery worldwide is not enough, I'd recommend adding a table with shipping times. Every customer wants to know how long they'll need to wait for the order.
  • You can add a link to your size guide to all of your products with sizing to be super user-friendly.
  • If you have traffic but no sales, it could be caused by a wrong targeting. You can try targeting different groups of people (different location, different age), see what campaigns bring the best results and focus on them.
  • Give a try to ROI Hunter Easy, personalized ads can bring your previous visitors back to your website and turn them into customers.

Best of luck!

Pippi,

On mobile, your 'Subscribe' popup blocks the top of the screen and it will not go away. Usually, if someone clicks away from a popup, it will disappear (or there is an 'X' or some other button to close it).

I viewed this on an Android phone.

Hi Star,

I've got a few points:

  • Your homepage could definitely be improved. The small logo in the top left corner is very small and hard to read while the big logo in the middle is chopped and its bottom part is missing (please check the screenshot). I suggest enlarging the small logo and replacing the big logo with a picture (Makeup related, of course).
  • You should improve your products description. If a customer doesn't know the products, I guess they'd like to know how to use it, who it is good for and what the results will be. You can find some inspiration on makeup blogs or your favorite make up shop.
  • If I got to your catalog, there are no product categories. I can only filter products but it doesn't correspond to your categories and if I want to find let's say a mascara, I need to search all of the products. This could be more user-friendly.
  • You're located in the UK and you're also shipping the products from there. Your store would inspire confidence more if there was your address.
  • Free shipping on all products - great, I would add more description, something like Free Shipping On All UK Orders. Then every website visitor (I guess you're targeting the UK in your ads) can be sure the shipping is really free.
  • Regarding your About us page, it's nice but could be more personal. Are you a family business? What about including a photo?

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Vano,

Thanks :-) I took a look at your website and I must say that the design is amazing! I love the winter look. Anyway, I got a few remarks to point out:

There's a lot of scrolling down to get to the bottom of your homepage. It's a little annoying because all of the important information (shipping etc.) is there. I think you can show less of your featured products and maybe omit the "Collections en vedette" at all as the categories are at the top of the homepage and there's no need to have it twice.

Bracelets for men are missing in the categories at the top of your homepage. It would be nice to have it, there are so many of bracelets and it's hard to find the right bracelet for a man.

Your about us page is nice, what about including your name and maybe also a photo? It could make your store look more trustworthy. You could also show that you're wearing the bracelets too. There's no exact address but it's quite clear where you're located and I guess it's enough.

The social media links shouldn't redirect the customer, they should be opened in a new tab as you need your customers to stay on your website, not to be redirected elsewhere.

URLs are in English while your site is in French (https://www.buddhabe.com/pages/refund-or-exchange-policy), it's not so important but it would look a little better in French.

Your descriptions are good, I'm sure that many people want to buy a bracelet not just because of its look but also because of its power. It would be nice to have a blog or just a few articles about the power of gemstones and links to the right bracelets.

Regarding the descriptions, you should double check it's unified. I didn't open all of your products but I noticed this description is bold while the others are not.

I've noticed there are no remarketing tags on your website. I'd recommend giving it a try because it can really boost your sales. Our app ROI Hunter Easy can help you with the setup.

Good luck!

Ok Katerina

Everyone loves your input and I agree. Want to take a shot on mine next? I am in the process right now of cleaning up all my descriptions - you'll see it for many products. Also working on getting rid of the product logos. Any other input is welcome. I keep learning things every day that I have found I was probably doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for your confidence. I took a look at your website and there are a couple things to improve:

  • I must admit that I don't really like your theme, mainly because there are just too many colors. As most of your products have a photo with white background, it would be really nice to have white background everywhere. Violent colors just grab the customers' attention to themselves. There are some simple and modern themes for free on Shopify, maybe you can consider using one of them.
  • You should also get rid of those full-color, underlined and capitalized texts (check your shipping page). It looks quite unprofessional. You should choose just one font and one color, preferably black or gray, and stick to it.
  • As I've mentioned above, the social media links should always be opened in another tab because you don't want the customers to be redirected elsewhere.
  • The contact page is good, consider adding also an address or at least a city.
  • On your collections page, it would be nice to distinguish occasions (on-the-go, wear-to-work) and styles (tops, bottoms). Maybe you could separate collections to "Shop by style" and "Shop by occasion". I'm sure you know better than me as I'm not a native speaker.
  • There's just one blog post from September. It's better to hide the blog if it's so outdated and show it after you have some new posts. It could make the customer believe that you're not in the business anymore.
  • Every time you're unsure about the design or layout, you can just check your favorite fashion stores and get inspired.

Good luck,

Katerina

Katerina-

Thanks for your input.  I agreed with the colors in my theme after looking around and already made that change (check it out if you get the time.)  It's a slow process trying to fix everything already done and of course, wish I had known more before I went Live.  Live and learn.

Not sure how on Shopfy you can have Social Media links open in a new window.  If you know how to do that, I'd love to know.  Thanks again!

Hi James,

I have checked your website and there are a few things you can improve:

  • The logo on your homepage is blurred. Maybe it looks all right on a mobile phone but it looks really bad on a desktop. You should use a better quality picture.
  • I'd suggest adding the information that the shipping is free also on your Shipping & Delivery page so the customer is sure about that.
  • There's an important information missing - who you are and where are you located. It doesn't really inspire confidence if the customer doesn't know anything about you. You can add some more information to your Contact or About us page. I'd recommend your address (or at least a city), phone number and name.
  • There's additional "15" on your About us page, I guess it's just a typing error.
  • You don't have any size guide and I guess it's quite important. It can be a separate page or a pop-up window and there should be a link to it on every product page.

Regarding your Facebook marketing, if you're sure you're targeting the right audience and you're ads are all right but the traffic is still low, you could also try different marketing channels like Google AdWords and compare the results. People usually go to Facebook just to be connected with friends but if you try Google Search ads, you can find people who are ready to buy a product. When setting up your marketing strategy, don't forget on remarketing, as it's a powerful tool to turn the visitors into customers. ROI Hunter Easy is free and can help you with the settings.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Arjun,

I agree that the feedback is important. It doesn't even have to be done by a professional, you can also ask your family or friends if you're unsure about anything. They can see the shop from a customer's perspective and it's very valuable. Here are a few remarks from me:

Your website is very nice and makes me feel like you're a big and well-established company. It's very important as it helps your customers to believe you.

There is the same thing as I mentioned above, the social media links should be opened in a new tab. Here's how to do it.

I like the fact that you mentioned your and your colleague's personal Instagram accounts. It can help your customers believe you're a real people and they can trust you. If you also mention where you are located, it will be even better.

Regarding your product pages, you have many photos of your products which is great. The sizes are disarranged (please check the screenshot) and you don't have a size guide on some of your products pages to help your customers find the right size.

I've noticed there are no remarketing tags or pixels on your website. I'd recommend trying remarketing among with your other marketing strategies. It can really boost your sales!

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Alexis,

Here are a few remarks:

Your logo is blurred and low quality, try to find a better image to your homepage. Also, the logo is small and doesn't make your site recognizable. What about adding some wide-angle image at the top of your homepage? Something sports-related I guess.

As I mentioned above, the social media links should be opened in a new tab. Here's how to do it.

You have your address included, that's cool and really helps to make your customers believe you.

You have just 10 products, maybe that's the problem. You don't need to have thousands of them but the collections should be complete. Imagine that you're going to a fitness for the first time and you want to buy some sporting clothes. Can your store complete it?

A size guide would be helpful.

If you have enough traffic but you don't have sales, are you sure you're targeting the right audience? After you optimize your website, you can try different marketing strategies and compare the results.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Arjun,

I have a few remarks about your new store:

I'd recommend creating a logo or at least enlarging the "GEEKZEEK" sign to make the store more recognizable.

It's a lot of scrolling before the customer gets at the bottom of the page where's all the important information (FAQs, contacts etc.). I think it would be enough to have just a few featured products on the homepage.

Clearance page is empty. You should add some products or hide it. I'd recommend removing the Bundles page. It only contains products from other categories and makes the shop hard to navigate.

Social media links opening in a new tab - great :-)

I'm missing some information about you in contacts or about us page. I can see on your Facebook page that you're located in Toronto. What about adding it to About us page? It would be also nice to have your names and email address there.

Your "Free shipping" sign is really tiny, you can enlarge it to make sure the customers know about it.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Roman,

Your website design is outstanding! I don't really like the wheel of fortune as it's shocking and quite annoying. Ask yourself if it's working good for you (Are you getting customers' emails?) and if it doesn't, you don't need it.

You should unify your fonts on the top of your homepage (Home, CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES), it should be all capitalizes or all "normal". It would look slightly better if you had a logo or at least a big "Meendo Shop" sign. Now it looks pretty much the same as the other signs at the top of your homepage.

I recommend changing "Accessories" to Canvases as it's more identifying if you don't plan to add other accessories.

I like the fact that you have size guide. If you target the US, you can add the table with sizes in Inches.

I don't know anything about your current marketing strategies so it's hard to advise. If you manage to bring some traffic to your website but you don't have sales, you can try our app ROI Hunter Easy too. It can help you with turning the visitors into customers.

If you can't bring any traffic, you should probably try different strategies. Most of Shopify users are using Facebook ads but your products are quite special and I guess it's not easy to find the right audience. You could try to target placements on Google AdWords with carefully selected product ads or launch Google Search campaign.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Star,

I've already reviewed your website but I took a look again there are two more things to improve:

The "Star Makeup" sign is still chopped and can't be read (check the screenshot).

Your social media links are redirecting the customers instead of being open in a new tab. You can find here how to fix it. It's not a big deal but the fix is very easy and it can help you to keep the customers on your website.

Hi Terrilynn,

I've reviewed your store and I have a few things to point out.

The picture of Juno with your logo on your homepage is lovely. I think it would be nice to have it at the top of all of your pages and you definitely need to include a photo of Juno to your About us page.

FAQs and Shipping information are very important pages and they shouldn't be hidden in "Resources".

Regarding the shipping information, it's not enough. You need to include shipping times and shipping fees for all territories you're targeting. Nobody wants to fill in all their address to know the shipping prices and you only lose customers. Also, I don't think it's good to mention that you're not responsible for lost packages. Is it possible to use postal service with tracking number and make the Canada Post responsible for any delivery issue?

I've already mentioned that above, it's better if the social media links are open in a new tab.

Your "Superstars" page makes me believe you're a well-established yet small business. That's great!

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Nirooshan,

I like the GPS coordinates on your homepage, it made me Google the place :-)

What I like less is that your store is half English (product names, free shipping sign, names of the pages) and half German. You should decide what language you want to use and stick to it, otherwise, it looks a little weird.

It would be better to offer three types of T-shirts: Men T-shirts, Women T-shirts, and Kids T-shirts so it's clear that the "T-shirts" are actually T-shirts for men.

I think your About us (Über Uns) page deserves to be more personal. Who are you? Why have you decided to sell Tamil Identity stuff? It should also include your address in Kall. I've noticed there are opening hours. Do you have a shop there? If so, you should mention it.

Again the same problem with Facebook link not opening in a new tab. You can fix it easily.

You offer free shipping in Europe, that's nice but you should also mention the shipping times to different countries and the rest of the world. It would be the best to have a separate shipping page with all the important information.

I can see you're not using retargeting ads which could really help you to boost your sales. If you wanna give it a try, ROI Hunter Easy can help you with the setup.

Best of luck!

Katerina

Hi Cheryl,

I like your website design and your logo. Just one thing, I don't like the white rectangle around the logo. I'd recommend trying to remove it (maybe you will need to change colors of the texts) and check if it looks better.

There's shipping page missing. I can see the worldwide shipping is free until the end of March and shipping times are mentioned on product pages but a separate page with more detailed delivery times could be helpful.

The "Brands" page is quite useless because you only offer one brand. it would be easier to navigate to divide your "Shop" page into categories. I suggest bags and backpacks, tools, collectibles, clothes and accessories but I'm sure you know your products better than me.

If you bought your domain through Shopify, you can get a more professional email address for free, check the instructions here.

Social media links should be always open in a new tab. You can fix it easily.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Katerina,

The feedback and advice you are providing are quite impressive. Would it be possible to get a little advice/feedback on my store?

I have only just opened it recently, however, through using google adwords express and Taboola I have had 1,354 visits to the store and spent $142.49 AUD on advertising.

Google Adwords Express: A$59.18 - 174 clicks

Taboola: A$83.30 - 238 clicks

Not sure how that difference in visits and clicks works.

Hi Richard,

The difference between clicks and website visits is a little odd. It probably wasn't caused by an organic traffic but more likely by a not very precise metrics. Maybe Shopify doesn't count unique visitors but all website visits and it's caused by returners but I'm not sure about that. To encourage your previous visitors to get back and make a sale, you can, of course, try retargeting them.

Your social media links should definitely open in a new tab but I'm not sure if they should be on your website at all. You have only 1 follower on your Facebook page and no videos on Youtube. I guess it would be better to hide the links now and display them after there's more content. Social media pages can make your customers believe you're reliable and your business is well-established so it would be great to work on this.

Your contact page should contain more information. Your address, email address and phone number would be fine.

I think there are too many options on your navigation bar. I'd remove "Brands" and "Catalog" to make it more clear.

The pop-up asking me to subscribe to a newsletter is opening on all of your pages. It's quite annoying to close it all the time, I think it could be shown less often.

The violent green color of the banner at the top of the page doesn't match with your store design. You can try to play with it and find something more calming.

I like your theme and the pictures on your homepage. The site is well arranged and easy to navigate.

Your products could have better images. White background usually looks the best but I understand it's hard to make your own photos as you're a drop-shipper. Anyway, if you had your own pictures, it wouldn't be so easy to find your products cheaper on Aliexpress.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Marcus,

I have a few remarks:

  • Your homepage design is very nice but there are two different shades of blue and it looks a little inconsistent. I think it would be better to unify it (please check the screenshot).
  • The blog is a great idea, don't forget to publish more posts.
  • There's a collections list on your homepage but it doesn't contain all of your products. You could change the collections to Yoga, Meditation, Jewelry and Home Goods.
  • When I'm on your product or category page, it's not easy to get back to the shop. I think it would be better to change the layout of the navigation bar at the top of your website. I'd remove links to your Contact and About us page, it's enough to have the links at the bottom of the page. The navigation bar could be slightly bigger and there could be categories (Yoga, Meditation, Jewelry, Home) instead of "Shop".

Good luck!

Katerina

Not an expert in such things but i give my own opinion.

I think your home page is a little too much, there is too much randomness? i would say, too many pictures without descriptions or any prices, i know you want to show what you have in store but instead adding 3/4 pictures for each collection i would just add maybe 1 really good quality picture with highlight ?

For example you have ''featured collections'' but when you mouse over the picture it doesnt say anything, it should say ''Boys'' ''Girls'' etc, There isnt much description too it looks kind of empty/ sketchy the home page, i would expect it to when you mouse over the picture you can see the details or price or small descriptions instead a lot of pictures on home page.

But yeah thats just my own opinion

On contact page i like that you have google map with location but it would be nice to have email address or phone number

Also your FAQ is really long i would make it short and simple

Same with the ordering its very long and has more than ordering, returning etc, i would name it ''shipping'' or returns and shipping.

Hi Dewa,

Your website design is beautiful but there are some things to improve. After you're sure your website is perfect, you can definitely try ROI Hunter Easy to boost your sales. The Google part is free of charge (you only pay the ad spend in your AdWords account) and retargeting is one of the most effective marketing strategies.

I really like the fact that there are your real address and phone number but if I investigate it further, your location is in Bali while the dialing code (+230) belongs to Mauritius and the returns should be shipped to Florida. I'm sure you have a reason for that, anyway, it looks a little suspicious and it would be better to use a different phone number and explain why the packages should be shipped to Florida (maybe it's the headquarters of your supplier?).

There's no shipping info on your website. No customer is likely to buy if they don't know the shipping fees and delivery times. You should include a separate shipping page with all these information.

The catalog could be organized better. You can divide products into phone accessories and phone cases or add a filter to sort products according to a phone brand.

The picture of the city on your homepage is beautiful. Anyway, the customer should know what you're selling immediately after getting to your homepage. If they're confused, they're likely to leave the page. What about cropping the image so it's narrower and adding more featured products to your homepage? You can find some further reading about website design here.

I'd recommend creating a logo so your brand could be recognized well. Here are some useful tips.

Good luck,

Katerina

Hi Katerina,

The advice you've given to others has been super informative. So many things to consider.

Any chance you'd be willing to take a peek at mine as well, I can certainly use some help as I launched November 1st with no sales yet.

Thanks, Joanna

Hi Joanna,

Thanks for the confidence! Your products are really unique and well designed, I must say that I really like them. I also like the pictures of dachshunds in various places on your website. What about creating a logo with a dog? It seems to me that you're talented and it wouldn't be hard for you. A logo makes a store more recognizable and looks good in ads.

I think your store could be better organized. If I use the top navigation bar, the "Accessories", "Bags", "Clothing" and "Home Decor" signs under "Shop" are not clickable, I need to click on the exact category like "Day Totes" even if some of the categories include just 1 product (check this).

If I hit "Explore" on the top navigation bar, it's confusing me. At first, I thought "Dachs on Yachts" and "Windy Dachs" are the same. I recommend adding some enhanced example of the pattern at the top of these category pages.

You have your address, email address and live chat - that's great.

I'd recommend trying multiple marketing strategies and comparing them as I can imagine it's very hard to find the right audience or placement. I recommend interest targeting on Facebook and placement targeting on Google Display Network combined with retargeting.

Good luck and say hello to Finnegan!

Hi Amedee,

Thanks for the confidence :-) I like your store design, it's simple, clear and very easy to navigate. I have a few remarks:

  • Your logo is very nice and unique but it's very small at the top left corner of the homepage. I recommend enlarging it to make your website more recognizable.
  • The social media links should be always opened in a new tab as you need your customers to stay in your store, buying products, and not to be redirected elsewhere. Here you can find how to fix it.
  • I'd recommend adding the Size Guide link to all of your product pages as it makes the buying easier.
  • Your contact page could include more information. It would be nice to add your email address, phone number and if possible, also your physical address. It helps your customers to trust you're a reliable vendor.
  • I really like your blog. It's well written and up to date. You can try to promote it on Facebook.
  • Some of the potential customers of an online store leave without making a purchase, sometimes, the visitor might make a purchase immediately, sometimes, they just need more time for decisions. You can try ROI Hunter Easy retargeting ads to win them back by reminding what they were browsing on your web.

Good luck!

Hi Tim,

I took a look at your website and I really like that you're selling some unique staff and you're a real professional. The fact that you have a well-established store in Antibes can help your potential customers to trust you and not to hesitate to make a sale. Anyway, there are a few things you can work on:

You have many products in many categories (I must admit that I don't really understand what some of the products are good for :-). There are 13 categories on the homepage which can make the customer feel lost. You could consider reducing the categories if possible. Also, some of the categories are empty (please check this). You can hide them until you have some products to add.

There are some changing pictures on your homepage but it's changing very slowly and I don't think that typical customer spends enough time on the homepage to see more of them. I really like the one with the rope and the compass (check the screenshot attached). Maybe you can set it as the first one showing.

White background pictures are always the best looking. I understand it's hard as you have so many products but you can make new pictures and change them step by step. It would really improve the look of the store.

Your social media links should open in a new tab (you don't want your customers to be redirected elsewhere). Check this article, it describes how to fix it.

I didn't find any shipping fees. I can see at the bottom of your homepage that shipping is free on many products but it's not enough. You should have a separate page with clear shipping policies and expected delivery times.

When setting up marketing, don't forget about retargeting as it's one the best performing marketing strategies. Our app ROI Hunter Easy can help you with the setup. You can also consider Google Search and Shopping campaigns to drive highly targeted traffic to your website.

Good luck,
Katerina
