Locations and Amazon FBA

Hello,

I have been running my shopify store for 6 years now and we have been trying to solve the inventory issue with shopify vs amazon FBA for some time.

Here is our setup:
We sell our products both on our shopify store and on Amazon. For Amazon we do FBA so we ship inventory to Amazon from time to time. Our current issue is that we have use Shopify to create orders to send inventory to Amazon FBA which causes us some headaches when trying to make sure we have stock on Amazon.

Orders placed on Shopify are fulfilled through a 3rd party house.

Now that Multiple location inventory is live, can this solve my problem. Can I use multi - location for the sole purpose of maintaining accurate inventory levels across locations? Or is this a solution to a different problem? How is everyone else managing FBA inventory? thanks

Hey Louie,

Just curious - why are you using a 3rd party fulfillment service for your Shopify orders instead of having Amazon fulfill those orders as well?

Well we are 50% wholesale 50% retail. Amazon fulfillment (Non-FBA) is too expensive for our product price especially for wholesale orders. We would lose money on every wholesale order if amazon fulfilled it.

Ah, that makes sense. Well if you're just looking for something to keep inventory in sync between Amazon and Shopify, you can use the ByteStand app.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the multi-location feature will track your Amazon inventory.
