Best Way to Set Up a Test Environment for a Site Redesign This post is outdated

Hi, I have a shopify up at http://originalfuzz.com.

I'd like to recode the design to employ a mobile first design philosophy. This might take a couple of weeks and I'm currently using the Shopify textmate bundle to send files to shopify. The only way I'm currently able to see changes in my templates is to send a file up to shopify and load the live site in my browser. Unfortunately I can't do a redesign on a live site that people are using.

Is there any way to set up a test environment. What's the best approach for this? Should I clone my theme and set up a separate free account for testing?

Just become a partner:

You can then make test sites to your hearts content. Simply point your bundle at the test site you make.

The best way would be to work with a unpublished theme.

There is a fork of the bundle where someone added theme awareness. I havent had the time yet to pull those changes into the tmbundle.

They should be in the main bundle soon.

Thanks Meeech! I am looking forward to see the theme awareness tweaks merged into your bundle!
