Google Trusted Store shipping and cancellation feeds

Hi all,

If you haven't heard about Google Trusted Stores......google it. If you have, I'm curious as if anyone has found a solution to setting up shipping and cancellation feeds for your store? If you do I think there are several of us who would greatly appreciate some guidance.

Thanks!

I'm having a bit of trouble getting the code working properly. I get that Google is content with a very distant support service (and no forum from what I can see - I'd like to know if there is on)

I was more disappointed in how ignorant the Shopify support was in helping implement the code. They were completely unaware of this development by Google! Really?!

I'd love to see more here, since user supplied knowledge seems to surpass the official avenues. Sorry this was more of a venting than a solution.

Cheers!

I happened upon my own thread when I did a new search trying to find a solution to this and see that it's still unresolved.

GaelicFootball - I worked for a while to try and set the feeds myself as well and ended-up hitting wall after wall until I finally gave up. Did you ever find any better luck?

The part that is frustrating is that I found out about Google Trusted Stores through a shopify article that even states that "all Shopify online stores can apply to participate in the pilot program." Link to article

I have an update on this for everyone.

Shopify is currently testing UI integration into the Google Trusted Store system. From my conversation, I gathered that they are in the final stages and were expecting completion soon, barring any straggles or hangups.

Hopefully completion will come quickly and we can get this off our collective plates. :)

I know this thread has been alive for over 12 months...was just wondering if any solution is coming soon.   This would be a great function to integrate into the Google Shopping App in the App Store - I believe that is a Shopify written app.

Hello everyone:

We officially put a hold on Google Trusted Store integration when we discovered, via beta testing, that the impact on Shopify merchants was minimal. You can read more about that here: http://ecommerce.shopify.com/c/shopify-apis-and-technology/t/google-trusted-shop-feeds-109952

There were also some conflicts in how their technology spoke with ours. We'll likely be revisiting Google Trusted Stores in the future and monitoring the impact it can have on stores, but in the meantime we continue to devote resources to other program like Google Shopping.

You can always find out the latest in terms of Shopify updates and changes at http://www.shopify.com/blog/tagged/announcements

Thanks for the reply, Christian.   I believe that now that Google is decommissioning Google Checkout, the Trusted Store program will the primary way for stores to procure reviews from their customers.  These type of reviews are important because display (or a link is displayed) when a customer searches for a product in Google Shopping or other Google sites.   I am seeing more and more stores displaying the Google Trusted Store badge, so I think this functionality will be important in the near future.

We too need an easy way to make our Shopify store compatible with Google Trusted Stores.  The impact on this Shopify merchant is *not* minimal.

I agree the impact of not supporting Google Trusted Store is definitely not 'minimal'.  Google Adwords PPC traffic is a Substantial revenue generator.  The impact is also that my competition using other eCommerce platforms differentiates by having the functionality.

Love Shopify and really hope they change their stance on Google Trusted Store!

Thank you!

This should be a Priority for Shopify to impliment.  Trust factors have become more and more relevant in Googles Pagerank algorithms.  Anyone can benefit from this, especially those who been hit by the Panda and Penguin updates, by becoming a Trusted store in Google.

Get on it Shopify!

We're trying to get this implemented too. We have an automatic feed submission system going from our order processing software (online) to upload the feeds, but the code for the `order success` page is troublesome... I wonder if anyone has made any liquid scripts to fill in the fields that google requires?

The badge will improve the click through rate which will reduce our cost at PPC. Please provide a solution on this.

The impact of being a Google Trusted Store is NOT minimal.  Most SEO companies agree that page rank gets markedly better after an ecommerce site becomes a Google Trusted Store. Also, for Adwords PPC advertising, having the Google Trusted Badge really helps sites stand out and may even raise your quality score.

Shopify, please reply and let us know if your stance on this has evolved at all.

Yes, please. If a Shopify store has more than 7 orders/day, they qualify for GTS. That checkbox next to their Google Ad or in Google Shopping is absolutely huge.

It looks like Google wants you to have your own SSL certificate, so I can't imagine this will work unless you have Shopify Plus. Also, you'd have to manually build a feed of your order fulfillment, which would be a pain in the ass.

However, this Gist is the trusted stores code, ported to Shopify. You'd throw this on your cart page (not https so it wont pass final verifications).

We need Google Trusted Store integration too. We need (1) The Shipment Feed and (2) The Code Integration. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Andy,

We have Plus. And we can manually submit a fulfillment feed using Shipstation, if there isn't any other way to automate this.

Can you help us get this working?

Or is what you write, "not https so it wont pass final verifications" -- mean that it won't work. I put the first part of the code in the footer so it is on every page and the last part, the order information, in the cart scripts.

Google recognizes the code I put in the footer. It does not recognize the check-out code.

If you can help, please email me at jennie@moderntribe.com. Thank you!

I just heard back from Google on this issue. Here's the response:

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your email.

At this time there are certain technical limitations on Shopify Stores that would prevent you from moving forward, particularly because as noted, we require that shopping cart pages and order confirmation pages must be hosted on your own domain. Because those pages on your site are hosted on a Shopify URL, we are unable to automatically detect those pages and collect the data we need as part of the application for the Trusted Stores program; and at this time there is no known workaround for this issue .

Thank you again and we appreciate your interest in partnering with us!

Best Regards,

Lydia
