Experiences so far
Hello! My name is Tyler, I work for Suzy Lewis and I do about 80% of the work revolving around physically shipping the orders for our store. So far I've only spent a few hours with this beta, these are my impressions so far:
- I love the new look for Shopify2, very sleek and trendy. The map feature while looking at an order is incredibly cool. I love the new location of the "Contact Customer" option.
- Obviously there are different placements of features everywhere, and I haven't had enough time to really allow that layout to feel comfortable, but it looks great and the placements are very logical (so please don't worry too much about complaints regarding that)
- There are however a few features that I've ran into that annoy me pretty well compared to Shopify 1.
- For me personally, the Fullfillment button on an order page could be relocated farther to the right side of the page. Near the Archive button or even on the far right under Billing and Shipping address, but realistically I think next to Archive would make more sense. This change would be immensely more helpful for myself and I hope others as well. You could even move the Archive button underneath Billing/Shipping address and put Fullfillment in it's previous place if you're concerned about people accidentally hitting Archive.
- Please take no offense, just trying to provide constructive criticism, but the Search at the top right is extremely annoying. I don't know if it is simply because of this being beta and not working correctly, or if this is the intended feature. Oh man I'm gonna sound whiny right now, but when I enter an order number in the search bar, I shouldn't have to press enter and then select the order from a drop down menu. The way Shopify 1's search bar functions is nearly perfect. Have the drop down menu appear when you enter something into the search bar, but pressing enter should take you right to what you typed in. If there was one major feature I'd recommend to have changed, it'd be that, it adds quite a bit of time to fully process an order having it the way it is in it's present state.
- Lastly, this is something that really isn't too huge of a thing and most likely falls under the category of not having enough time to acclimate to the new layout, but when looking at a specific order the gap between the item they purchased and the quantity is unreasonably long. If it were up to me, I'd look at shifting the item description to the right, closer to the quantity.
- And very lastly, I'm sure this has already been brought up but the lag on the beta is very noticeable. I know this will get fixed.
Those are my concerns and praises so far, if I run into anything more I'll most definitely respond to this thread to add more. I'm really looking forward to using the released Shopify 2. I hope my recommendations are considered and I'm excited to see the progress this site will make. Thank you for your hardwork.

I really like that you make a note about where to modify the "Contact Customer" default email right below the email window. THANK YOU! ~Suzy

Tyler here, just wanted to let you know this happened with one of our orders today (no list of items). Unsure if it is because it is an older order or something else. Just thought you guys should know.

Edit: This appears to only happen with older orders.
Edit 2: I believed that the orders placed before we made the switch to Shopify 2 on 11/7/12 were the only orders not showing the items purchased. However, after speaking with Suzy I'm not sure this is the case, as she mentioned an older order appearing fine for her.¯\(°_o)/¯

Switched back to the Beta today and I'm already having difficulty with one thing so far. When trying to select a specific order from the Orders tab I'm rerouted to the same order placed several months ago every single time. Doesn't matter which order I click on, I'm always sent back to this specific order. Just wanted to let you guys know.

Edit: The problem went away after switching to the original Shopify and then switching back to the beta. For more clarification, the order that I was being sent to each time was one that I had searched for in the search bar. I obviously don't know why I was being taken back to this page, but I just wanted to give a little bit more information regarding it.
