Addword add campaign - success This post is outdated
Good day to you.
I starting to use CPC (Cost per-click) adds to bring visitors to my ecommerce site with Shopify.
I am trying to bring an exchange of how much a campaign work for you and what doesn't.
1. What is the amount you pay for a single click?
I try to keep it at 0.33 cent per click.
2. How much do you attribute per day on budget.
I do 10 $ a day.
3. Return on investment.
For every 130 visitor I get 0.5 % sale so 200-300 visitor is a sale.
Any toughts on this? What is your experience with addword?
Cheers,
Yannick

Hello Yannick. Every store is going to have its own conversion rate (number of purchase/visitor) and cost per click (CPC) depending on the market niche and competition.
By your numbers you are spending $0.33 x ~250 = $82.50 to sell one item, at $239. Assuming your retail markup is 50% you might be making a profit of about $37, minus your shipping costs, which is hopefully less than this.
If so, then you are profitable, which is the first, and most important, step. Congrats!
If each transaction if profitable, and you have enough inventory, then increasing your daily spend should increase sales, and therefore your profit.
The other side of the equation is made up of two things that can also be improved:
Conversion Rate: Increasing the number of sales/visitor. Perhaps you can add some customer testimonials to your store or some additional product photos. Or a demo video showing what the inside of the bag is like. Does it have pockets? Does it have a sexy lining? Are the straps adjustable? What does it look like when being worn? These things might help bring the conversion rate up from 0.5%. In online retail a conversion rate of 2% is pretty good, but this really depends on the niche.
Another factor in conversion rate will be the ad copy--the actual words you use to bring people to your store. If the copy is not specific enough to what you offer in your shop, you may be wasting ad spend on traffic that won't buy.
Cost Per Click: There are many ways that an Adwords account can be optimized, tested, and expanded. There are many resources online, or you can contract a professional Certified Google Partner to help (like me). If done properly, you can reduce both the CPC and the total amount spent on advertising, while increasing the number of sales.

Hi "CityDan"
Hey thanks for your outlook on it. Yes I think video is a something to be added soon. I think the video should be of high quality since I sont want to downgrade the man purse product that I sell.
I am still understanding how addword dictates the output of the add:
Search on Google:
ex: Stylish Man Purse online
"Stylish" Man Purse
Elegant Man Purse from Luxe Man Purse.com
What is it's Hugo Boss searched?
"Hugo Boss" Man Purse
Elegant Man Purse from Luxe Man Purse.com
Maybe I don't wan't a false add to disapoint then its not Hugo Boss brand. That is why I haven't gone that way.
This big puzzle is something to pick at every day for sure!!

If you do not want your ad to show when someone searches Hugo Boss, you can add "Hugo Boss" as a Negative Keyword. To be more specific, you can set the keyword 'Stylish Man Purse' to be a Phrase Match or Exact Match keyword. Phrase match will show for your phrase when there are other words before or after it in the query, and Exact Match means that your ad will only show for the exact query: Stylish Man Purse and not for related terms or synonyms.
Do you have Conversion Tracking set up?

Hi Yan,
There's a very cool ebook about some little known but extremely powerful Google Adwords tactics and tricks, and it's called Landing Page Cash Machine by Mark Widawer who is a Certified Google Adwords Professional.
Enjoy it!
